Ampersand
0.4.6
The sidebar appears the moment Ampersand opens, and launching no longer downloads your whole vault from iCloud.

What changed
- The sidebar and All Docs now appear as soon as Ampersand opens, even when macOS has moved your notes to iCloud to free up space. Ampersand keeps a small record of each note’s icon, color, preview text, links, and tags on your Mac, so an unchanged note no longer has to be downloaded just to show it in a list. A note this Mac has never read shows its name first; its icon and preview fill in a few seconds later.
- Opening Ampersand no longer downloads every note from iCloud again. Backlinks and tags are rebuilt from notes that actually changed, several at a time, and version history no longer re-reads notes just because macOS moved them to iCloud.
- While the sidebar is loading it shows a placeholder. “No pages yet” now only appears when a vault really is empty.
Ampersand updates itself in place, so you are probably already on a newer build than this one. If you are installing fresh, the download page always has the current release for macOS, Windows and Linux.
